Sterile single-use filters for high gas exchange.
AirOtop™ Enhanced Seals (patented) are sterile single-use filters that provide high gas exchange for all shake flasks. The filter has a 0.2 micrometer sterile barrier with a resealable membrane for use with Ultra Yield flasks and flasks from other brands. Several sizes are available to fit most commercially available shake flasks.
The filters have been tested by customers with excellent results in cultures for up to 7 days. Testing included Protista (algae), E. coli and other microbes, and resulted in improved growth and more aerobic growth in all tested lines. The tests also showed that the culture pH remained more neutral.

How do they work?
AirOtop™ filters can be used as a sterile barrier that ventilates the sample while preventing contamination and airborne particles such as phages, mould, spores and dust from entering the culture. AirOtop filters replace plastic and metal caps, aluminium foil, cotton plugs and any other type of closure you normally use. AirOtop Seals are a convenient sealing solution for all types of flasks. When used together with Ultra Yield flasks, they become a simple single-use bioreactor at a fraction of the cost.
