LabTech evaporators enhance evaporation by reducing the partial vapor pressure of the solvent directly above the surface of the liquid using nitrogen gas. This type of evaporator is a validated alternative to rotary evaporators for sample volumes under 50 mL and for processing larger numbers of samples.
When samples are immersed in a water bath, with temperatures adjustable up to 100 °C, evaporation can be further accelerated.
LabTech offers four different models, three of which are automated and one simpler manual version. Depending on the system and sample volume, the units can handle from 6 to 54 samples.
